This week we are super excited to have local shop curator Laura Housgard join us. She will be talking about following your passion and dedication to your dream in the face of uncertainty.
Laura has always dreamed of owning her own brick-and-mortar retail space and she wanted to combine her two passions: Swedish culture and fashion. She began with an online store while living in Brooklyn. She has since grown the business tremendously and even has her own space in Portland. The shop is now called Johan and has been praised for its minimalist design and merchandise. You can find more information about Laura on her website, www.shopjohan.com.
Come help out this Saturday evening at Transition Projects in SE Portland! We will be cooking a meal for nearly 100 men in in transitional housing. More information about this incredible organization can be found on their website at http://www.tprojects.org/.
This is one of our favorite events of the year. In fact, sometimes we do it twice a year. It's a great cause and totally worth your time. We can have up to ten people volunteer and we only have seven signed up so far. Please let me know if you'd like to join us!
